What is a Next Step?
At Middleton Baptist, we are all about helping people take their next step toward Jesus. We are all on a journey, and we all have ways that we can grow close to Jesus. We call these Next Steps. Next Steps are usually a decision you make to begin doing something new or different that will help you grow closer to Jesus. These are not like levels of following Jesus, and there’s no order you have to do them.
Next Steps are things we think will help you grow in your relationship with Jesus.
So, look at the Next Steps below and see if Jesus is prompting you to take a step now. Remember, you can always take your Next Step using the ‘Next Steps’ Button in the bottom right corner of our website!

Next Steps
Gather for Worship.
Make a descision today to gather with us for worship on Sunday mornings. This could be a decision to attend for the first time, or to increase the frequency of your attendance.
Attend a Connect Session.
Connect Sessions are a special event for people new to Middleton Baptist. At a Connect Session you will get to meet our pastors as well as other people who are new to Middleton Baptist.
Connect sessions take place over a free lunch right after our weekly worship service.
Follow Jesus.
Making the decision to follow Jesus is a big deal! However, we think it is the best decision you could ever make.
This Next Step does not require anything formal, but it is a commitment to Jesus that you can make personally. That said, we would love for you to give us the opportunity to guide you through this step and celebrate with you!
Get Baptized.
Baptism is a celebration of the new life we have in Jesus. Jesus asks us to follow him by being baptized. If you have taken the Next Step of following Jesus, consider being baptized.
Join a Group.
At Middleton Baptist we believe everyone should prioritize being part of a group. Groups are the place where we develop meaningful relationships with other followers of Jesus so that we can pursue Jesus together. Being connected in community is an important part of following Jesus.
Take Jesus Home.
This Next step involves making Jesus a part of your life each and every day, no matter where you are, starting with your home.
We would love to explore with you the Next Step of following Jesus at home, in your day-to-day life. There are important practices that you can do to be with Jesus anywhere, anytime.
Serve others.
A core value of Jesus was serving others. So, we would invite you to take the Next Step of serving with our church and partnering in the mission we are on.
There are many ways you can serve with our church, and we believe God has specifically gifted you to serve His church. Our Volunteer Expo happens regularly, and that is a great time to explore places to serve. Or you can take the Next Step now and have a conversation about where you would enjoy serving.
Give financially.
We believe that giving is a way to show that Jesus is the most important part of our lives. Everything we have is a gift from God, and so we give back a portion of our money in faith that God will use it to accomplish his mission in the world.
Become a Member.
Church membership is a official commitment to this local body of followers of Jesus, Middleton Baptist Church. It is a commitment to journey with us, to grow with us and to support each other as we all seek to follow Jesus to the best of our ability.
