We serve the Lord Jesus Christ
Danny Smith
Lead Pastor
Danny grew up in Shag Harbour, Nova Scotia.  He was raised in the church and has a deep love for the church of Christ. He is passionately committed to preaching the word of God and seeing the church reach its full potential as disciples of Christ, and as a people who reach out beyond the walls of our building in Jesus name both locally and globally.
Danny began ministry at Middleton Baptist in 2001, as the Youth Pastor while studying at Acadia Divinity College.  The next year he took on the role as Associate Student Pastor.
In 2004, Danny was called by Middleton Baptist Church to be their Lead Pastor.  Danny is a graduate of Atlantic Baptist University and Acadia Divinity College.  He is married to Lisa and they have two beautiful children – Joshua and Hannah.
Libby (Elizabeth) Amirault
Pastor of Congregational Care

Libby joined the MBC team in 2020.  She oversees visitation, and our ministry of hospitality to those new to MBC.  Libby (like Pastor Danny) hails from the small village of Shag Harbour, NS.  She gave her life to Jesus as a young child and has delighted in serving Him all her days.  She will continue to serve Him and you as your Pastor of Congregational Care.

Libby and her husband George retired to the beautiful Annapolis Valley in 2006 after serving in the Canadian Armed Forces for over 32 years, living all over Canada and even a tour in Germany.  They have three grown children, all married, and six grandchildren who are their pride and joy.

Her passion in life is to see people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.  It is this passion that led her and George to become Gideons (now ShareWord Global); and in that capacity she has been on 10 mission trips, and is currently leading Go Trips (mission trips).  A few other things she enjoys doing are: Precept Bible Studies, quilting, and reading, probably in that order.

Oliver is passionate about making disciples who treasure Jesus above anything else.

She graduated from Kingswood University with a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry in 2016, and continued working there as an enrolment counsellor until moving to the Annapolis Valley in 2018.

Lindsay is married to her husband Oliver and they enjoy doing ministry together as a family with their daughter Eloise.
Caleb Archibald

Caleb joined the MBC team in 2020, serving in a role as summer student.  He is passionate about equipping the young generation to love Jesus and serve Him.
He is currently completing a Master of Divinity degree at Acadia Divinity College after graduating in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry.
Before coming to the Annapolis Valley, he lived in New Glasgow, NS with his parents and sister.  While in New Glasgow, Caleb attended First Baptist Chuch New Glasgow, where he also served in a summer student position.  Caleb is thrilled to be a part of the MBC family.  He is married to Leslie, and together they serve the Lord.
What is Christian Leadership?
As followers of Jesus,
we desire to follow the path of leadership
laid out for us by our Lord and Saviour
Jesus Christ
This is what Jesus tells us about leadership:
I am the good shepherd.
The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
John 10:11
whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all.
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and
to give his life as a ransom for many.
Mark 10:42-45, Matthew 20:26-28
When Jesus had finished washing their feet,
he put on his clothes and returned to his place.
Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them.
You call me Teacherand Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.
Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.
I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.
Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
John 13:12-15
What else does God tell us about Leadership?
Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers.
Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.
Acts 20:28
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
Ephesians 4:11-16
Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Philippians 2:4
For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers.
Proverbs 11:14
Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.
James 3:1
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
1 Timothy 4:12
Give me now wisdom and knowledge to go out and come in before this people, for who can govern this people of yours, which is so great?”
2 Chronicles 1:10-12
From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.
Luke 12:48
In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.
Proverbs 16:9
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15
Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding.
Jeremiah 3:15
